Rudy Pospisil, a firefighter from Vancouver, Canada, was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. It was from this point that his entire life changed. Rudy was hit with fear, confusion and doubt. He had to start asking himself the “big” questions, one of which was, “Have I done everything that I’ve wanted to do in life?”
Now a cancer survivor, Rudy has taken up the cause of fundraising for cancer research as the answer to his big life question. He wants to do everything he can with the life he has. His mission is to cycle around the world, sharing his story, bringing inspiration and raising money for cancer research.
His trip around the world began in 2009 from Vancouver. He has now travelled across 15 countries and covered approximately 19,000 kilometers of land.
In Australia, Rudy started in Cairns in September, then cycled south through the Pacific Coast to Sydney before ending his journey in Melbourne. (Rudy’s Schedule)
Rudy invites everyone to join him on his journey whether it be by sharing your story, cycling along with him or simply writing him a message of encouragement.
