Astronaut Chris Hadfield

Decorated serviceman and Canadian Chris Hadfield was the first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station and the first Canadian to spacewalk.

He visited Australia in 2014 for National Science Week to promote his New York Times Bestseller, An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth, and to share his passion and knowledge about space exploration.

Inspired by the televised events of the first spacewalk, Hadfield endeavoured to continue the journey of sharing space discovery via YouTube and social media.

Chris Hadfield is the first Canadian to walk in space. Since retiring from his work as an astronaut, his new mission is to share his experience and knowledge of life in space.
